Le propri\u00e9taire sortit encore \u00e0 midi, puis \u00e0 trois heures de l\u2019apr\u00e8s-midi et fit de m\u00eame.\u00a0Enfin, vers cinq heures du soir, il sortit et trouva d\u2019autres hommes qui se tenaient encore sur la place. Il leur demanda\u00a0: \u00abPourquoi restez-vous ici tout le jour sans rien faire\u00a0?\u00bb \u2014\u00a0\u00abParce que personne ne nous a engag\u00e9s\u00bb, r\u00e9pondirent-ils. Il leur dit\u00a0: \u00abEh bien, allez, vous aussi, travailler dans ma vigne.\u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Quand vint le soir, le propri\u00e9taire de la vigne dit \u00e0 son contrema\u00eetre\u00a0: \u00abAppelle les ouvriers et paie \u00e0 chacun son salaire. Tu commenceras par les derniers engag\u00e9s et tu termineras par les premiers engag\u00e9s.\u00bb\u00a0Ceux qui s\u2019\u00e9taient mis au travail \u00e0 cinq heures du soir vinrent alors et re\u00e7urent chacun une pi\u00e8ce d\u2019argent.\u00a0\u00a0Quand ce fut le tour des premiers engag\u00e9s, ils pens\u00e8rent qu\u2019ils recevraient plus\u00a0; mais on leur remit aussi \u00e0 chacun une pi\u00e8ce d\u2019argent.\u00a0En la recevant, ils critiquaient le propri\u00e9taire\u00a0et disaient\u00a0: \u00abCes ouvriers engag\u00e9s en dernier n\u2019ont travaill\u00e9 qu\u2019une heure et tu les as pay\u00e9s comme nous qui avons support\u00e9 la fatigue d\u2019une journ\u00e9e enti\u00e8re de travail sous un soleil br\u00fblant\u00a0!\u00bb\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mais le propri\u00e9taire r\u00e9pondit \u00e0 l\u2019un d\u2019eux\u00a0: \u00abMon ami, je ne te cause aucun tort. Tu as convenu avec moi de travailler pour une pi\u00e8ce d\u2019argent par jour, n\u2019est-ce pas\u00a0?\u00a0Prends donc ton salaire et va-t\u2019en. Je veux donner \u00e0 ce dernier engag\u00e9 autant qu\u2019\u00e0 toi.<\/span><\/p>\n
