Ce sont les pri\u00e8res et b\u00e9n\u00e9dictions de l’Eglise lors des 3 jours qui pr\u00e9c\u00e8dent la f\u00eate de l’Ascension. Elles servent \u00e0 la protection des cultures et des jardins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A l’heure actuelle, je proc\u00e8de \u00e0 la b\u00e9n\u00e9diction d\u2019un peu de terre que je partage ensuite avec celles et ceux qui le souhaitent. Ils peuvent ensuite r\u00e9pandre cette terre, dans leur jardin ou sur les fleurs de leur balcon, avec une pri\u00e8re pour la Bienveillance des Cieux sur nos cultures et nos plantations… \u00e9vitant s\u00e9cheresse ou trop de pluie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette ann\u00e9e, j\u2019ai renouvel\u00e9 la b\u00e9n\u00e9diction de petites croix qui sont distribu\u00e9es \u00e0 la chapelle . Elles sont plant\u00e9es ensuite dans les jardins, la croix tourn\u00e9e vers l\u2019est et le soleil levant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Je reprends une vieille tradition des monts du lyonnais, qui consistait \u00e0 faire b\u00e9nir des petites croix en bois, pour les \u00ab\u00a0planter\u00a0\u00bb dans les champs de bl\u00e9 ou d\u2019orge, ainsi que dans les jardins, les porcheries, les \u00e9tables. Ces croix \u00e9taient destin\u00e9es \u00e0 la protection de toutes les cultures destin\u00e9es \u00e0 nourrir les humains et les animaux. Une derni\u00e8re croix \u00e9tait clou\u00e9e \u00e0 la poutre ma\u00eetresse de la maison d\u2019habitation. Je garde encore le souvenir de ces croix fix\u00e9es aux poutres, \u00e0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 60. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ma m\u00e8re m\u2019a racont\u00e9 qu\u2019au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 60, il y avait 3 processions sur les 3 jours des Rogations. Le lundi dans une premi\u00e8re direction, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 1 kilom\u00e8tre du village, pour la protection des pommes de terre. Le mardi, nouvelle procession dans une autre direction, pour une autre b\u00e9n\u00e9diction. Enfin le mercredi, derni\u00e8re procession dans une troisi\u00e8me direction, pour la b\u00e9n\u00e9diction des bl\u00e9s. Ces processions se d\u00e9roulaient t\u00f4t le matin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette pratique s\u2019est peu \u00e0 peu \u00e9teinte, (autour de 1970) \u00e0 cause de la m\u00e9canisation de plus en forte de l\u2019agriculture, de l\u2019arriv\u00e9e des pesticides\u2026 Le contact \u00e9troit avec la dimension vivante de la terre disparaissant aussi, le r\u00f4le de ces b\u00e9n\u00e9dictions devint petit \u00e0 petit moins primordial pour les chr\u00e9tiens d\u2019alors.<\/p>\n\n\n

En 2025, il n\u2019y a plus gu\u00e8re que l\u2019Eglise Gallicane, pour poursuivre ces b\u00e9n\u00e9dictions et en exprimer le sens aupr\u00e8s des fid\u00e8les. Mais de nouvelles attitudes face \u00e0 la nature sont en train de prendre forme et vie dans notre monde moderne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ces gestes et ces pri\u00e8res ont un sens profond, alors il ne faut pas les perdre et notre responsabilit\u00e9 est de les faire vivre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
